A great patron and mentor, Robert and I will be forever grateful for Richard's belief and investment in our architectural practice. His legacy lives on through our work and through his children's homes which will benefit many generations of Barker's and others to come. Fowlescombe Farm - his own home and vision was described by then RIBA president George Ferguson as a 'rural utopia'. He will be sadly missed but his drive, values and virtues live on through his children, and of course Robert with whom I have the pleasure of working with every day.
